For those investors seeking higher current income than the broader
domestic equity markets, Phocas offers high yield Income Equity Portfolios,
primarily composed of preferred equities, REITs, and dividend paying value equities.
We seek a stable, high level of current income by:
- selecting a core of 100-200 common, preferred and convertible preferred equities that generate above average current income versus the broader equity markets with lower volatility over time;
- augmenting the core of equity securities with non-core equity and fixed income securities; and
- reducing risk through a thoughtful, methodological approach to portfolio construction.
We employ proprietary, quantitative modeling and qualitative analysis
to evaluate equities, seeking those which will maximize current income
while minimizing risk and turnover. In keeping with this goal, our buy
and sell decisions are never based on price volatility alone, but
instead follow pre-determined criteria.
